Maheta Molango
Accomplished Football Executive
Maheta Molango is one of the most accomplished football executives in the modern game, combining elite playing experience with deep legal expertise and senior leadership across club and global football institutions.
His playing career included spells across the English professional pyramid, notably with Brighton & Hove Albion, giving him first-hand insight into the realities facing players at all levels of the game.
Following his transition off the pitch, Molango built a distinguished career as a labour and sports lawyer. Fluent in English, Spanish, French, Italian, and German, he joined Baker McKenzie in 2007, passed the New York Bar in 2011, and went on to co-found the firm’s global sports practice. He was twice recognised by Chambers & Partners as one of Spain’s leading sports lawyers.
In 2015, Molango returned to Atlético Madrid as legal counsel. He was later appointed CEO of RCD Mallorcafollowing the club’s €20 million takeover by Steve Nash and Robert Sarver. Over four years, he delivered back-to-back promotions from Segunda B to LaLiga and transformed the club from sustained losses into a record €17 million profit.
Before becoming Chief Executive of the Professional Footballers' Association, Molango also served as Co-Director of FIFA’s Club Management Programme.
