Amma Mensah
Entrepreneur, Business Strategist & Founder of Reign
Amma Mensah is a London-born Ghanaian entrepreneur and founder of Reign, the world’s first African luxury rum brand. Since launching in Accra in 2023, Reign has quickly become a multi-awardwinning global brand celebrated by industry leaders and consumers across Africa, Europe and the United States.
Amma’s journey with Reign began in 2020 when she returned to Ghana to lead one of West Africa’s largest organic farms and distilleries producing sugarcane, cashew, rum and brandy. Within her first two years, she sold over 30,000 litres of rum, halved company losses and increased the salaries of local farmers by 50%, demonstrating a powerful model for commercially successful and socially conscious African enterprise.
A multi-award-winning entrepreneur, Amma was named a Financial Times Future Leader in 2018 and has built a reputation at the intersection of business, culture and social innovation. She is the youngest board member of UnLtd, a £150 million social investment foundation supporting entrepreneurs across the UK.
Amma is also a sought-after speaker and guest lecturer, appearing at institutions including the University of Cambridge, the UK Houses of Parliament and TEDx. In recognition of her contribution to social entrepreneurship in the UK, she was awarded a full scholarship to the London School of Economics’ Executive MSc in Social Business & Entrepreneurship.
