Chris Wilkinson is the co-leader of the Educational Institutions and Services industry group at Perkins Coie and is resident in the firm’s Washington D.C. office. As a former government senior executive, his practice focuses on aiding clients in navigating the complex government litigation and compliance landscape.
Chris advises on employment related government compliance obligations as well as aids clients facing large-scale investigations by the Department of Labor, the EEOC, and other state and federal agencies. Among other areas, Chris works closely with clients’ senior leadership to conduct deep analyses and assessments of DEI programs and AI-related tools to ensure compliance with federal antidiscrimination laws. Further, Chris also leads investigations into sensitive matters at all levels of the workplace including high-level executives
Before joining the firm, Chris served as the associate solicitor for civil rights and labor management for the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Chris led the legal division responsible for the regulatory, policy, and enforcement matters for seven DOL agencies including the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and the Office of Labor Management Standards.
In addition to his client work, Chris serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Virginia School of Law and is a past chair of the Board of Governors at the Washington Latin Public Charter School.
