Partner, The Rouse Firm
Roy Turner is a seasoned entertainment attorney with over two decades of legal practice. As the partner in charge of the Rouse Firm LLC's Consulting Services Division, he specializes in navigating the complex intersection of entertainment and business law. His expertise encompasses providing counsel and strategic advice to creative entrepreneurs across various stages of their business lifecycle, from inception to dissolution.
His client portfolio includes a diverse array of entertainment industry players such as independent production companies, record labels, talent agencies, filmmakers, and artists. Turner's contributions to the field are recognized through his growing list of IMDB credits as production counsel on numerous projects, affirming his pivotal role in guiding productions with legal precision.
In his pursuit to offer comprehensive business and consultative services, Turner devised the innovative “Business Legal Maps™.” This legal audit system is designed to identify potential areas of risk for businesses and delivers a structured pathway for both new and established business owners to follow for compliant and secure operations.
Furthering his commitment to the entertainment sector, Turner founded the Independent Film & Music Collaborative, LLC (IFMCollaborative), a platform dedicated to equipping creative professionals with the necessary resources, people, and tools to establish legally robust and viable businesses in the realms of film, music, gaming, and beyond.
Drawing on his personal experiences in Los Angeles, where he supported his son's endeavors in showbiz, Turner co-created the Showbiz Parent Bootcamp. This initiative serves as a support network and resource for parents guiding their children through the intricacies of the entertainment industry. His advocacy for the rights of minor entertainers led to his involvement in legislative efforts, where he was tapped by a Georgia State Legislature's Education Committee member to assist in drafting legislation aimed at strengthening Georgia's child entertainer laws.
With an extensive background in law, business acumen, and a deep understanding of the entertainment industry, Turner will leverage his knowledge and experience to contribute to the success of the IFMCollaborative. His vision is to establish the IFMCollaborative as the premiere destination for creative entrepreneurs in Atlanta and beyond.
