Roger Patton
Co-Founder/General Counsel, Global Head of Strategic Business Development, Africa Creative Agency
Roger L. Patton is a distinguished graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. Currently, he is an esteemed entertainment lawyer and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California, leading his own practice under the banner of the Law Offices of Roger L. Patton. His practice offers a comprehensive range of legal, business affairs, and strategic business development services across all areas of entertainment and new media.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Patton is the Co-Founder, General Counsel, and Global Head of Business Development for Africa Creative Agency (ACA), a Pan-African talent agency and production company with offices in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Nairobi, Kenya. ACA represents a diverse roster of talent, including Grammy Award winner Tyla and BET Award winner Nasty C, and is dedicated to showcasing African entertainers on the global stage. The agency recently launched its film and television production arm, with its award-winning feature film Fight Like A Girl, starring its client Ama Qamata of Netflix's Blood & Water. ACA’s portfolio further includes Africa Creative Publishing, Exodus Records and the Africa 1 Gaming League.
Before co-founding ACA, Mr. Patton served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Business Development for Hidden Beach Recordings, an independent record label and experiential entertainment production company in Los Angeles, recognized for launching the career of singer/songwriter/actress Jill Scott. In this role, he oversaw all legal and business affairs while driving new business ventures and strategic partnerships.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Patton was a partner at the prestigious Beverly Hills entertainment law firm Bloom, Hergott, Cook, Diemer & Klein, where he represented top-tier recording artists, producers, actors and production companies, including Babyface, Snoop Dogg, En Vogue, TLC, the Wayans Bros., the Hudlin Bros. and Chris Rock. His extensive experience also includes serving as Chief Entertainment Counsel for former President Bill Clinton’s Presidential Inaugural Committee, where he negotiated all entertainment and media agreements for the inaugural events.
