Mimi Camara
Principal Attorney, Camara Law Group PLLC
Miriam “Mimi” Camara is a music business affairs veteran with over a decade of experience who has launched her own boutique entertainment practice based in New York City. The Staten Island Native started her firm after building her career at Warner Music Group and getting deals done for both frontline labels, Atlantic and Warner Records. She received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her law degree from the Fordham University School of Law. Blending supreme responsiveness with meticulousness and practical deal savvy, her clientele which includes the likes of YouTube phenomenon Gracie’s Corner, and evergreen rap pioneer Soulja Boy, serves developing and legacy artists, media companies, record labels and tech entrepreneurs.
Recent wins for Camara include a successful summer of #1s for Jacksonville veteran Yungeen Ace, landing the young and versatile genre defying Bossa at Atlantic Records, bombastic rap persona Dumar1K at Epic, closing the partnership between Royce Da 5’9 and the Detroit Pistons, as well as the strategic business development effort she has put into the current evolution of the music SaaS company BPM Music as its head of business affairs in addition to playing an integral part in the business development of Indian entertainment juggernaut Kyyba on the subcontinent and stateside. She is most looking forward to similar wins for R&B songstress AKIA, the effervescent entertainer 2Rare, the gritty and introspective emcee GMK, Mexican producer phenomenon Muzik Junkies, alongside trending YouTube stars Kinigra Deon and Tiffany La’Ryn in the year ahead.
