Michelle Sneed
CEO & Founder, A Few Good Women Productions, LLC
Michelle Sneed is a veteran television and film industry executive with over 18 years of experience spanning the scripted and unscripted entertainment arenas.
She is known for her exemplary leadership skills and as a decisive team player - striking the balance between creative and production throughout all phases of content development, execution and exhibition. Michelle’s latest endeavor is that of A Few Good Women Productions, where she and the dynamic women around her are asking the question “why do big studios get to have all the fun?” This boutique studio and production company operates under a hybrid traditional motion picture studio model coupled with the foundation of a production company. It is founded on the notion that it is crucial to create vehicles for fair, equal, and meaningful opportunity for diverse creatives both in front of and behind the camera, starting in the profit-participation and executive-level roles — because true opportunity for diverse storytelling and ownership starts at the top. The power to greenlight and underwrite these projects with high-integrity deal-making is essential to the future and standing of diverse executives, producers and storytellers.
Prior to starting her own company Michelle served as the President of Tyler Perry Studios, leading all film, television, and new media projects. During her tenure in this role, Michelle executive produced and led the launches of multiple new television shows and feature films, resulting in over 450 hours of content produced each year. She also rebuilt the post-production facility and operations, resulting in a multi-million-dollar revenue stream.
Media outlets such as the Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Power 100 and Essence Magazine’s Black Women in Hollywood have recognized Michelle multiple times for her vast work. A graduate of Michigan State University, and from the small town of Inkster, Michigan, Michelle currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. She also serves on the Board of Governors for the Paley Center, as well as for the DreamChasers Foundation, and in 2022 was honored with the “Givers Award” from the Girls with Gifts Foundation. Michelle is also a member of the Producers Guild of America.
