Elke Suber is Chief Legal & People Officer at Community.com, a leading SMS customer engagement platform. Elke is a strategic legal and business executive in technology, high-growth businesses, from private practice with an AmLaw 50 multinational law firm (Akin) to Big 5 Tech at two of the world’s most valuable brands (Microsoft and Meta) to a founder-led start-up in the communications industry that uses generative AI (Community.com). Since 2023, Elke has led the Legal and People teams at Community. Prior to joining Community, Elke was the Head of Legal for Meta’s multi-billion dollar Ads, Business Messaging and Meta Business Groups. Before Meta, Elke spent 16 years as a legal leader at Microsoft, where she served in increasing senior roles and led the Legal function for various businesses, including Microsoft’s Global Partner Solutions, Consumer and Devices, and Microsoft Store organizations, among other roles.

Elke is an active volunteer in both legal and civic organizations. Elke is Secretary of the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Western Washington. She also serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Elke served as Chair of the Black Entertainment and Sport’s Lawyers Association’s (BESLA) Board of Directors from 2016-2018, and in various leadership roles on BESLA’s Board from 2008-2016.  In 2018, Elke delivered the commencement address at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law graduation ceremony. She was also recognized by Savoy Magazine as one of the Most Influential Black Lawyers in Corporate America in 2018. Elke serves as a keynote speaker and panelist for various organizations and has been profiled in publications, such as MCCA’s Diversity and the Law Magazine, the Huffington Post, and the Root.com.
