Jemar Daniel is currently Vice President and Senior Counsel at Paramount (formerly ViacomCBS). Jemar has been a member of the Production Content Review (PCR) team within Paramount Global’s law department since 2014. In his role, he advises clients on various pre-production-related legal matters, including defamation, intellectual property, right of publicity, and pre-litigation strategy. His clients include scripted, unscripted, digital, news, off-channel production teams, and various ad-sales business units. Jemar also works closely with other Paramount law department teams to create legal guidelines for integrated marketing business units that produce branded content for digital platforms. 

In addition to his role on the PCR team, Jemar is a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee within Paramount’s law department. As co-chair of the Partnering with Outside Counsel 

subcommittee, he leads initiatives to foster a more diverse and inclusive field for minority and underrepresented legal practitioners. 

Before joining Paramount, Jemar was a member of BET Networks’ legal team from 2010 to 2014. He obtained his J.D. from The American University’s Washington College of Law, and he is admitted to practice in New York. He is a graduate of McDaniel College and a visiting member of its Board of Trustees. He is also co-chair of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association’s (BESLA) Young Lawyer Division’s steering committee.
