Nyasha Shani Foy is a multi-hyphenate business & legal affairs executive, board member, creative and thought leader. She partners with, counsels, and navigates executive management teams that stand at the intersection of culture, media and technology.
Nyasha has served in senior business and legal affairs roles at Buzzfeed, Broadway Video, Complex Media, Horizon Media, VICE Media Group, and Sotheby’s as their first Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, NFTs.
Outside of her professional life, Nyasha serves as Vice Chair of the Save the Music Foundation Board, on the Board of Directors for the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association (BESLA), and as Vice Chair of the New York State Bar Association, Intellectual Property Law Section. She is a writer, producer and frequent speaker known for her dynamic insights on topics ranging from lifestyle and culture to intellectual property and AI. She authored the featured article, “Does Copyright Protection Extend Beyond Original Works in an AI World?” published by the New York State Bar Association (Spring 2024).
Nyasha received her B.A. in Music and French from Wesleyan University, and her J.D. from New York Law School. She is admitted to practice in California and New York. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
