Lawrence is COO and General Counsel of UrbanflixTV, Inc., a subscription-based streaming service and production company which offers online streaming of a library of feature films, scripted series, unscripted shows, short films, documentaries and more. UrbanflixTV is dedicated to creating original programming as well as acquiring exclusive content that is in line with its goal to provide to its viewers unique stories and content with diverse casts, storytellers and themes.

 

Immediately prior to UrbanflixTV, Lawrence was a Partner at Fox Rothschild, LLP where he served as Chair of its Entertainment Litigation Practice Group. At that firm, he represented institutional and individual clients in a wide range of entertainment and litigation proceedings as well as in the capacity of outside general counsel.

Lawrence has extensive experience representing a wide range of clients in the music, film, television and other entertainment-related fields including major entertainment and media companies such as film studios, television networks, record labels and music publishing companies. He has also represented actors, writers, directors, producers, recording artists, talent agents and agencies, business and personal managers and management companies, musicians, models, production and distribution companies, investors, entertainment guilds and many other individuals and companies.

Lawrence has served as Chairman, President and General Counsel of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association, President of the John M. Langston Bar Association, President of the California Association of Black Lawyers, Chair of the National Bar Association's Pipeline Diversity Initiative, Chair of the Litigation Division of the American Bar Association's Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, Executive Committee member of the State Bar of California’s Litigation Division, Board Trustee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and as a board member of The Greater Los Angeles African-American Chamber of Commerce Education Fund and Foundation.
