Darrell Thompson, Esq.

A Detroit native and a graduate of the University of Michigan, BA ’87 and JD ‘90, Darrell began his career as a transactional entertainment attorney in Los Angeles, CA which included working as the Director of Business and Legal Affairs at the legendary Motown Records under the tutelage of Mr. Jheryl Busby and Mr. Clarence Avant.  Some current and former clients include Jay Z, The Black Eyed Peas, En Vouge, The Isley Brothers, Mary Mary, The Clark Sisters, Eric Bellinger, Andy Mineo, Layton Greene (the first R&B artist signed to legendary Atlanta Hip Hop Label QC), and a host of music producer/writer clients that have worked with artists including Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Rihanna, Usher, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige and Christina Aguilera just to name a few.  Mr. Thompson also has represented an impressive roster of clients on the motion picture side. Throughout his career he has negotiated deals for clients involved in more than 50 motion pictures beginning in the early 1990’s with the film “Juice” starring a young Tupac Shakur, “Men In Black III” starring Will Smith and “Oceans Eight” starring Sandra Bullock.  Mr. Thompson has handled deals for clients like Meagan Good, actor and singer Tyrese (“Fast & Furious” and “Transformers”) and reality TV Stars Ray J, Angie Stone, The Sheards, SWV, and Spice from Love and Hip Hop Atlanta.  Mr. Thompson is currently transitioning into the role of television and film producer having served as Executive Producer on the independent urban faith based film entitled “Jada” starring Clifton Powell and Rockmond Dunbar distributed by a division of Vivendi/Universal.  He is in post-production on his next film entitled “The 420 Movie: Mary and Jane” starring Daniel Baldwin, Keith David and Vern Troyer (“Mini-me”) scheduled to be released in 2019. Darrell additionally is a profound personal manager. His management clients include 16 year-old singer, actress, and social media influencer Sophia Grace, who shot to international fame from her appearances on the “Ellen” show.  Her videos on YouTube have collectively garnered more than 500,000,000 million views. Sophia Grace has starred in televisions shows on Nickelodeon and ABC. She is a NY Times Best Selling Author and has debuted in Billboard Magazine’s top songs chart.  He also handles the career of up and coming music artist Brando who currently is the featured artist on Loud Luxury’s multi-platinum hit “Body”.  Rounding out his management roster is social media influencer Rene Daniella who runs the travel, lifestyle, and beauty blog Ownbyfemme.com.  A man of many talents, Darrell most recently become the C.O.O. and a Co-Founder of tech start-up Push Through Innovation Corporation which is the developer of an exciting new music app entitled “Deepr” launching in Q3 2019.
