Darcell Lawrence is no stranger to the entertainment business. The music and film executive has worked at Def Jam Records for over 20 years. As the Executive Vice President of Joint Ventures, she was responsible for several notable artists at the time, including Jay-Z, DMX, Kanye West, LL Cool J, Ashanti, and Ja Rule, to name a few. Darcell successfully transitioned to the television and film industry. 

She earns credits as co-producer for seasons one and two and co-executive producer for season three of BET’s anthology television series, TALES. She also co-wrote a season three episode of the series. In addition, currently, Darcell serves as President of Visionary Ideas Entertainment.
