Chauntell Bobo, Esq.
Deputy General Counsel, Women’s Tennis Association

Chauntell Bobo is the Deputy General Counsel for the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), where she leverages her extensive background across diverse industries to drive legal excellence within the realm of professional sports. With a robust career spanning sports, sports betting, technology, trading, cryptocurrency, and corporate and commercial transactions, Chauntell brings a unique perspective to her role.


In her capacity at the WTA, Chauntell oversees legal and business matters critical to the success of the WTA Tour. Her responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum, including tour operations, corporate governance, policy development, intellectual property rights, player and tournament relations, and technology implementation.


Before joining WTA, Chauntell served as the Assistant General Counsel for the Golden State Warriors, where she provided strategic legal and business counsel on various facets of the organization’s operations. Her expertise extended to corporate partnerships, commercial transactions, player engagements, cryptocurrency and NFT initiatives, technology innovation, intellectual property rights, marketing endeavors, and community outreach efforts.


Prior to her tenure with the Golden State Warriors, Chauntell held the position of Director of Legal & Business Affairs at FanDuel, where she navigated complex legal landscapes surrounding corporate governance, gaming licensing, business development, sports league and team deals, sponsorships, general employment and human resources guidance, media transactions, technology and data transactions, and data privacy compliance, including GDPR and CCPA.


Chauntell’s career journey also includes pivotal roles at DRW Trading Group, as well as legal practice experience at esteemed firms Baker & McKenzie LLP and DLA Piper LLP. Her academic foundation includes a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Law from Loyola Marymount University, and a Juris Doctorate from The University of Chicago Law School.
