Shameeka Quallo

Shameeka Quallo, Esq., Vice President and General Counsel for the Washington Spirit, is an executive leader with a passion for the business of sports, with a broad scope of leading Legal, Human Resources (People & Culture), and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Shameeka builds and leads the strategic vision of Legal & HR and provides expert counsel to ownership and leadership on corporate decision-making and implications of contracts, decisions, and other matters. She negotiates major business contracts for the organization while partnering with business leads and develops internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Furthermore, she leads, inspires, and motivates teams to produce results. 

Prior to joining the Washington Spirit, Shameeka was Associate General Counsel and Sr. Director of DEI for the Chicago Cubs; Associate General Counsel and Director of DEI for the International Speedway Corporation (motorsports); and Associate Counsel for the Ladies Professional Golf Association. In each role, Shameeka served as a business-oriented attorney with transactional and compliance responsibilities handling a wide range of business initiatives, including contract negotiation, labor and employment matters, HR matters, internal investigations and managing litigation.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Shameeka was an auditor for 10 years with the National Futures Association, where she performed risk-based financial and compliance examinations of firms that traded commodities, options and forex and safeguarded market integrity.

Shameeka is dedicated to serving disenfranchised communities and has an extensive public service background. She currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Board of USA Weightlifting, a board member of DC Scores, Council member of the James R. Jordan Boys & Girls Club, and formerly served as Board Chair of Junior Achievement of Volusia County. She is a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and is an arbitrator with FINRA.
