Elke Flores Suber leads the legal team that supports Microsoft Stores worldwide, providing strategic counsel on compliance and risk management, retail, ecommerce, real estate, and other issues. She has also supported expansion initiatives in China and the UK. Prior to this role, Elke served as lead product counsel for Microsoft consumer online products and copyright counsel for Xbox. Elke is the first African-American woman to become Assistant General Counsel at Microsoft.
Prior to Microsoft, Elke was counsel for CIGNA’s Technology and Business group, and a law firm associate. Elke started her career as a law clerk for the Honorable Gary L. Lancaster of the US District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and for the Honorable Justin M. Johnson of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Elke is a past Chair and President of the Board of Directors for the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association.
She is Chair of the Digital Media and New Technologies Division of the American Bar Association Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries. Elke is a 2011 Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity Fellow and a 2017 Distinguished Alumni of her college, Slippery Rock University. Elke received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she serves on the Board of Visitors.
