Programming and Events

BESLA organizes several events throughout the year. A portion of the net proceeds from each of these events helps to support our student scholarship initiatives and fund the operation of BESLA.

In 2015, BESLA experienced another remarkable and noteworthy year.

First, we continued to expand our programming. We hosted regional events in cities across the United States, and we held successful Mid-Year Conference in New York City. In addition, we continued to strengthen and build our ties with organizations like National Bar Association – Sports and Entertainment Law Section, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, and the Multicultural Media, Telecom, and Internet Council. We expanded our outreach and partnerships with law schools. Importantly, we had a presence at critical events by hosting BESLA programming in connection with events like the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, DC. All of these efforts has allowed us to expand our reach, and the opportunities for BESLA members to hear from industry experts, to network and to do business. Next, we provided new ways for our members to get directly involved with BESLA. In addition, to offering opportunities to serve on long-standing committees like our Scholarship and Programming Committees, we introduced new opportunities to serve on BESLA Practice Group Committees, and on our Regional and Mid-Year Event Committees.
