James C. Jones joined the National Association for Multi-ethnicity (NAMIC) in September of 2005. NAMIC is the premier organization that educates, advocates and empowers diversity and inclusion in the media and entertainment industry. Jim serves as Senior Vice President of Education and Diversity Solutions. His primary focus with NAMIC is to collaborate with companies in the media and entertainment industry to establish and nurture enterprise-wide, sustainable diversity and inclusion strategies focused on ensuring that the leadership and influence cadres of the industry reflect the increasingly diverse global consumers of content.
Jim Jones arrived at NAMIC after a decade of launching a wide range of diversity, team building, mentoring and other multicultural programs for the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME), a national non-profit. Before joining NACME, he had consulted in the corporate, government, education, and not-for-profit sectors, designing and implementing training and development and enterprise-wide organization
After receiving a B.A. from Harvard, Jim attended New York’s Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, focusing on operatic performance. He was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to France, and spent five years studying and performing in European concert and opera venues. He eventually returned to America and attended the Columbia Business School, from which he earned an M.B.A. Jim also serves as an executive coach, and consults with non-profit boards to drive mission-critical results.
