Antonious Porch, Esq.

Panelist

Antonious Porch serves as the General Counsel of Shazam, one of the most popular mobile apps in the world that lets people discover, explore and share music and TV they love.

 

Prior to joining Shazam, Antonious Porch spent over a decade at global entertainment company Viacom.  For most of his tenure, Mr. Porch worked at Nickelodeon, serving as its Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel.  In that role, Mr. Porch oversaw business and legal affairs for the U.S. Digital Media, Ad Sales and Marketing businesses of Nickelodeon, as well as the U.S. and International Consumer Products and Home Entertainment businesses.  Mr. Porch supported the creation, development, production and distribution of Nickelodeon content across major media platforms and product categories.  In addition, Mr. Porch designed Nickelodeon’s compliance strategies for Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations in the areas of privacy, marketing and advertising on television, mobile and websites.  Later, as Viacom’s Vice President, Senior Counsel of Technology & Kids Compliance, Mr. Porch provided strategic direction and counsel to Viacom and Paramount Pictures on cybersecurity, information technology and privacy.

  

While at Viacom, Mr. Porch served as the Executive Champion of Emerge, the LGBT employee resource group at the company dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for all Viacom employees.

 

Prior to Viacom, Antonious Porch served as the Director of Business & Legal Affairs at Classic Media (now DreamWorks Classics), an animation studio, production and brand licensing company.  In that role, Mr. Porch supported distribution of content featuring iconic 20th Century characters – including Casper the Friendly Ghost, Lassie and The Lone Ranger – across all media including film, television, home video and consumer products in territories worldwide.   

 

Mr. Porch began his career at the law firms of Latham & Watkins and Morrison & Foerster.   He is a graduate of Yale College and Columbia Law School and also completed a cable executive management program at Harvard Business School.

   

He currently serves on the board of directors of the IRTS Foundation, a media industry charity, and provides pro bono legal services to the Ma-Yi Theater, a Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning theater company that produces innovative plays by Asian American artists.
